Which sofas are suitable for allergy sufferers?

For customers who are allergic to feathers, the Sitzfeld collection includes the View, Glanzstück, Sky, Gastfreund, Brick and Set sofas. The upholstery for these sofas is made of cold foam and does not use any feathers.

Where are Sitzfeldt sofas manufactured?

Experience in the production of high-quality upholstered furniture and compliance with our quality standards are the most important criteria when selecting companies. Our workshops are in Slovakia, where the upholstery industry has a long tradition and which has been a friendly connection for a long time. We also pay attention to the European origin of our processed materials.

Where do the Sitzfeldt fabrics and leather come from?

The fabrics are sourced from a small, highly specialised factory in Italy – a third-generation family business. We source our leather from sustainably producing tanneries in Italy and Germany. All our leather collections are awarded the Blue Angel (eco-label).

Is it possible to view the sofas in a shop?

You can experience the Sitzfeldt collections live in our showrooms in Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Stuttgart. You can get advice and convince yourself of the quality of our products here. Please refer to the respective showroom pages for address and opening times, as well as the models on exhibit. If you cannot set up a visit during our opening hours, we would also be happy make personal appointment with you. Care & Cleaning

What is the best placement for my sofa?

Try to avoid direct sunlight and exposure to bright lights. Your sofa should be at least 30 cm away from a radiator.

How can the covers be maintained and cleaned?

We have several sofas in the collection that allow the seat and back cushions to be removed – this includes the models Tom, Brick, Nimbus and Panama. The body is fixed on all models and not removable.

When cleaning the covers, we recommend dry cleaning, as our fabrics have a high content of natural fibres. In a normal wash, the fibres would contract and the cover would shrink. Many stains are also treatable with our cleaning kits and are easy to remove. Our cleaning kits can be found here in our online shop.

For particularly heavy soiling or stains on your sofa, professional upholstery cleaning may be the right solution. The cost for a 3-seater sofa is usually around 100 €. We always recommend POS upholstery service in such cases. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. POS specialises in sofa & home textiles and provides home visits throughout Germany.


How can I order the free fabric and leather samples?

There is an extra form provided where you can choose your fabric and leather samples. They will be sent to you within a few days free of charge.

Can I change something in my order after it is already placed?

Whether changes can be made to an order depends on the production status. However, we always strive to respond to our customers’ requests! What are the payment options at Sitzfeldt?

We offer a variety of payment options: direct debit, prepayment, immediate transfer, PayPal, credit card and Ratepay*. If you do not offer the right payment method for you, please contact us and we will surely find a solution.

*We offer a very fast and non-bureaucratic instalment payment solution through our payment service provider “RatePAY”. You can choose the payment terms for this option in the shopping cart. Then you can pay in comfortable instalments (sample calculator hier).

- This option is available only for orders from an order value of 200 € to a maximum of 3.000 €.
- Deviating delivery addresses are not possible with this payment method.
- Only available for private customers with a German billing address.

When and how do I receive my invoice?

Once your order is completed, you will receive an automatic order confirmation via email. After we have personally checked your order and your payment has been received, you will receive a payment confirmation and your invoice by email.

Why does the sofa have to be paid for in advance?

Your Sitzfeldt sofa will be custom made for you after your order. All parts necessary for this, from the wooden frame to fabric, foam, etc. are already paid for by us before delivery to you. Without prepayment, Sitzfeldt would have to assume the risk and pre-finance the materials - we would have to hedge against a possible default in this case. And this would result in higher costs that would make our sofas more expensive for you. Since we always strive to ensure you get the best possible price, we only accept prepayment. To set you mind at ease, we offer a great service with our partner Trusted Shop, which makes it possible for you to insure your purchase with us for free via Trusted Shop.

What kind of security do I have when ordering using prepayment?

We offer our customers the Trusted Shops Buyer Protection. You have the opportunity with each order to register and to have your entire online purchases in Trusted Shops-certified shops automatically secured for a full year for a small fee of currently € 9.90. If the sofa is not delivered, you would receive the money back from Trusted Shops. Each individual purchase can be secured up to € 20,000. The security for a sofa purchase is valid with us for a total of 60 days, but must be extended again after about 30 days. This means that after about 30 days following your order you will receive an inquiry from Trusted Shops about whether you have already received the goods. If you respond to the inquiry in the negative, the security will be extended by another 30 days.

Delivery & Despatch

How long will it take to get my sofa delivered?

The delivery time at Sitzfeldt is 8-10 weeks. Although your order will be produced especially for you, due to the proximity of our production facilities, we can meet these short delivery times. The delivery time starts from receipt of payment.

How long is the delivery time for accessories?

Delivery times of 4-6 days apply for care products and blankets. Cushions go into the same production run as our sofas and therefore require an extended delivery time of 8-10 weeks.

Will the delivery company take my old sofa?

It is possible to have the delivery company remove your old sofa. Currently, the cost is € 39,50 per seat (so a 2-seater would cost € 79 etc.). We are happy to provide the relevant information to the delivery company in advance so they can plan to remove your old sofa. Payment is made vial the freight forwarding company. If you are interested, please give us a short confirmation; we will take care of everything else!

Can I have my sofa built to a custom size?

No, unfortunately not. The sofas are only available as offered in our shop. Although we always manufacture to order, we offer fixed sections and dimensions so we can keep to our prices.

How do I know when the delivery will arrive?

As soon as we have handed over your order to our freight forwarder, you will receive an email about the completion of production. The freight forwarder then has 14 days to set a suitable delivery appointment with you. The time frame for deliveries is 3 hours and will be announced no later than one day before delivery. Delivery is possible on working days from Monday to Friday. Delivery on weekends is not possible. If you have any special requests, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will try to meet your requests with the freight forwarder.

Will my sofa be carried to my living room?

Whether you live on the ground or fifth floor, your sofa will be carried exactly where you want it. Please make sure that the packages can pass through the doors and the staircase and the paths are clear. Delivery through windows or balconies is not possible for safety reasons. The exact dimensions of the delivery packages can be found in the respective product view. The sofa will be set-up on site and the packaging will be removed. The delivery is completely free for you.

Will my sofa be set-up?

Your sofa will be unpacked and set-up on site and the packaging will be removed. We want you to be able to make yourself comfortable right away!

How can I check that the sofa will fit through my doors?

Every product description indicates in how many parts the delivery will be made. In addition to the number of packages, you will also find the exact dimensions of all packages there.

How can I change my delivery address?

Where does Sitzfeldt deliver?

Sitzfeldt delivers to German, Austrian and Swiss addresses free of charge. Please note that delivery to the German islands is unfortunately not possible. For more information you can contact our customer service at any time (Mon. - Fri. 9.00am - 6.00pm).

What are the shipping costs?

Sitzfeldt ships free within Germany, Austria and Switzerland. All product prices shown in the online shop already include delivery to the desired location. There are no additional costs for you.

Does Sitzfeldt also ship to the German islands?

Unfortunately, no. But delivery to an address on the mainland is of course possible at any time.

Are deliveries to Austria and Switzerland possible?

We also deliver to Austria and Switzerland. The prices differ depending on the country of delivery. Based on the flag in the menu you can adapt to the delivery country.

Why did I receive a fabric or leather sample with my delivery?

This is a color sample of the sofa cover material. Please store the sample well. So we can minimize the possibility of color deviations on a back ordered item.

Can I cancel a current order?

Cancellation is possible until we start manufacturing your order. If you would like to cancel your order, please contact our customer service by email or call +49 30 60 988 588 (customer service: Mon. - Fri. 9.00am - 6.00pm).

What do I do if I do not like the sofa and I want to return it?

You do not assume an risks when making a purchase! We give you the opportunity to sit down and enjoy your sofa for 100 days. If you are not 100 % convinced after that, we will pick up the sofa for free again and refund the money back to you. A short statement in writing is sufficient without giving reasons.

What do I do if I want to return accessories?

We need a short statement in writing without stating reasons. Please send accessories such as blankets and care sets to our Berlin address with sufficient postage: Sitzfeldt GmbH, Karl-Marx-Allee 71, 10243 Berlin. As soon as we have received the goods, we will credit the cost to you and refund the purchase amount as well as the amount for the postage.

How long is the guarantee for my sofa?

The legal guarantee of two years applies. We will not make you sit on a sofa that you do not like or that has manufacturer defects. We have resolved justified complaints after two years to our customers’ satisfaction.

What can I do if something breaks on my sofa?

If this happens, please contact our customer service by phone at +49 30 60 988 588 or by email ( We will promptly address your issue. We will exchange broken parts or send a personal repair service to your home. We only close the case when you are satisfied again.
